Plexus are a global organisation leading in electronics design and manufacturing and have a base at Pinnaclehill in Kelso. Every year the employees at Plexus hold events to raise money for local charities, with all of the money they raise then matched “£ for £” by the company. Nominated charities are put forward for consideration by employees, and the charities chosen are based upon the number of nominations received.
This year the activities undertaken by employees included flower sales, a summer raffle, Mission Slimpossible (with three members of staff aiming to lose 10 stone between them), bag-packing at Sainsbury’s, a golf day, a sponsored Christmas Jumper day, sponsored walks and haircuts ……and many more. The result was a sum raised of £9856.70 which, when matched by Plexus, resulted in the total sum increasing to £19,713.40 – an amazing achievement that has resulted in each of the nominees receiving the sum of £6571.14.
We were surprised and delighted to learn that the supported living service at Treetops was among those successfully nominated this year by employees at Plexus. We would therefore like to thank everyone involved at Plexus for their donation, which was accepted on behalf of the organisation by Alicja Piliszczuk, Service Manager. It is intended that the donation will be used to purchase communication and sensory equipment for use by everyone living at Treetops.
